The EZ Logs Fleet app for owners and admins
Watch your fleet from your phone - status, live map, drivers' hours, approvals, alerts, dispatch and messages - and get push notifications for what needs you.
EZ Logs Fleet is the phone app for fleet owners and administrators. It shows the same company data as the web portal and lets you handle the everyday approvals on the go. Drivers keep using the EZ Logs driver app: that app is the ELD and records hours of service.
Who can sign in
- Owners and administrators sign in with the same email and password they use for the web portal.
- Support staff can sign in read-only and choose the carrier to view.
- Drivers who sign in are asked to use the EZ Logs driver app instead.
If your password was set by someone else and is temporary, the app asks you to choose a new one first.
What you see
- Home: how many drivers are driving, on duty or off duty, drivers running out of hours, violations, and a needs attention list.
- Map: where your vehicles are, with each vehicle's status. Tap a vehicle for the driver, speed and last update. The map is shown when Live map is on for your company.
- Drivers: every driver with their current duty status and hours left. Open a driver to see today's log graph and events (read-only), move between days, and select View route to see where they drove.
- Approvals: one inbox for unidentified driving to assign, log edit requests, inspection (DVIR) defects, pay statements to approve and pay disputes, and documents drivers sent for review. Only the sections of features your company uses are shown.
- More: Alerts (acknowledge and resolve), Notifications, Dispatch (loads, stops and status; message the driver), Messages and Settings.
All times are in your company's home-terminal time zone (shown under More, for example America/Chicago (CDT)), and drivers' log days follow your 24-hour period start, the same as in the web portal.
Everything you do in the app is checked and recorded by the server exactly like the same action in the web portal, and shows in the audit log. Edits to a driver's log are always proposals the driver must accept in the driver app.
Note: when your account is read-only (for example a billing problem) the app shows a banner and hides the approve and acknowledge buttons. Fix it in the web portal under Billing.
Push notifications
Owners and administrators can get push notifications for new alerts, inspection defects, unidentified driving, answers to edit requests, documents to review, accidents and pay disputes. Notifications never show driver names or details on the lock screen; open the app to see them.
Go to More > Settings > Notifications:
- Push notifications on this phone turns pushes on or off for this phone only.
- Send me push notifications turns them on or off for all your phones.
- Notify me about chooses Everything, Warnings or Critical only.
- Untick a type to stop pushes of that type. The web portal's notification list always shows everything.
Alerts follow the recipients of each alert rule: you only get a push for an alert when the rule notifies you.
Language, theme and sign-out
In Settings choose English or Español, and Day, Night or Phone theme. Signed-in devices lists where your account is signed in; sign out a lost phone from there. Sign out on this phone also stops its push notifications.
Installing
During testing the app is shared as an Android APK. Open the link you received, allow installing from your browser when Android asks, and open EZ Logs Fleet. An iPhone version is coming.
