Creating your company account and free trial
Sign up online, verify your email, enter your company details and follow the getting-started checklist during your free trial.
Fleet owners can create an EZ Logs company account themselves and start a free trial. No credit card is needed to start.
Open Start free trial on ezlogs.co, the Start free trial link on the portal sign-in page, or Fleet owner? Create a company account in the driver app. All of them open the sign-up page at https://portal.ezlogs.co/signup.
Note: if sign-up is closed you see Sign-up is closed. Email hello@ezlogs.co and we will set up your account.
Step 1: Your account
- Enter your First name, Last name and Work email. Use a permanent business email address; disposable addresses are refused.
- Choose a Password and type it again in Confirm password. The password cannot be your email address.
- Optionally enter a Phone (optional).
- Tick I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and select Continue.
Step 2: Verify your email
On Check your email, enter the Verification code we sent and select Verify email. If it does not arrive, wait for Resend code to become available. Codes expire; an expired code shows This code has expired. Send a new one.
Step 3: Your company
On Tell us about your company, fill in:
- Company: Legal name, DBA name (optional), USDOT number and MC/MX/FF number (optional).
- Principal place of business: country, address, city, state or province and ZIP or postal code.
- Hours of service defaults:
- Home terminal time zone: driver logs and the 24-hour period follow this zone.
- Cycle (property-carrying): 70 hours / 8 days or 60 hours / 7 days. Use 60/7 if your company does not operate every day of the week, otherwise 70/8. The 34-hour restart is supported.
- 24-hour period starts at: home terminal time. Most carriers use midnight.
- Allow personal conveyance and Allow yard moves: both are off until you enable them.
- Fleet: Number of trucks. This sets the vehicle seats of your trial.
Select Create company account. You are signed in as the company owner and land on your dashboard. You can change these settings later in Settings > Carrier settings.
USDOT verification
Our team verifies your USDOT number with FMCSA after sign-up. You can use the portal while the check is pending. If we cannot verify it, the checklist says so; contact hello@ezlogs.co.
The getting-started checklist
Your dashboard shows Get started with EZ Logs with your progress (for example "3 of 7 done"). Each step is ticked automatically when the work is done, and its link opens the page that does it:
| Step | Link | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Review your company profile | Open settings | Carrier settings: home terminal, cycle, 24-hour period start and special driving categories |
| Invite your office team | Invite admins | Company users (Users and roles) |
| Add your vehicles | Add vehicles | Adding vehicles |
| Add your drivers | Add drivers | Adding drivers |
| Pair ELD devices | Open devices | Binding a PT30 to a vehicle |
| Get drivers on the app | Download the app | Installing the driver app |
| Set up alerts | Set up alerts | Alert rules (only shown if alerts are part of your account) |
When you no longer need it, the owner or an admin can select Dismiss. Every step stays available in the navigation.
Your free trial
- The trial lasts 14 days unless we tell you otherwise. The top bar shows how many days are left (for example "Trial: 9 days left"), and Settings > Billing shows Free trial with the end date.
- The account owner can select Upgrade at any time. Billing does not start without a payment method.
- When the trial ends without an upgrade, you see Your free trial has ended, so the portal is read-only. You can still view everything, but not make changes until you upgrade.
Important: drivers are not affected when the portal is read-only. They can still log hours of service, certify their logs and perform roadside data transfers.
See Billing and your trial for subscriptions, seats and invoices.
