Sessions and sign-in security

See where you and your team are signed in, sign out lost or unknown devices, review sign-in activity, and change passwords.

For admins

EZ Logs records every sign-in, failed attempt, sign-out and password change, and keeps a list of the browsers and devices where each account is signed in. You can sign out a device at any time, for yourself or for the people you manage.

Your own account

Change your password

  1. Open the account menu (your name, top right) and choose Change password.
  2. Under Your password, enter your current password, then your new password twice, and save.

Passwords must be 10 to 256 characters and must not be your email or username. A long passphrase is easiest to remember. When the change is saved, every other browser and device signed in to your account is signed out.

If you have forgotten your password, click Forgot password? on the sign-in page and enter your **Email or ELD username** to get a one-time code. The code expires after 15 minutes. Resetting your password signs you out everywhere. If the page says password reset is unavailable, ask your company owner to set a new password for you (an owner asks EZ Logs support). See Portal sign-in problems.

See where you are signed in

  1. Open the account menu and choose Security (or open the Security tab next to Password).
  2. Where you’re signed in lists each browser or device with its IP address, approximate location, when it signed in and when it was last active. The one you are using is marked This device.
  3. To sign out one device, click Sign out on its row and confirm.
  4. To sign out everything except the device you are using, click Sign out all other devices and confirm.

Below the list, Recent sign-in activity shows your own sign-ins, failed attempts and password events.

Tip: If you see a device or location you do not recognise, sign it out and change your password straight away.

Your team's sign-ins

Sign-in activity page

Open Compliance in the left rail, then Sign-in activity under Reporting. It lists sign-ins, failed attempts, sign-outs and password changes for your company's office users and drivers, newest first, in your home terminal time zone.

Filter the list with:

  • User: one office user or driver, or Anyone.
  • Event: Signed in, Sign-in failed, Signed out, Token reuse blocked, Session signed out, Password changed, Password reset (code) or Password set by admin.
  • From and To dates.

Click Clear filters to start again. Hover over an event to see the reason, for example "wrong login or password", "too many attempts" or "by an administrator". Sign-in activity is kept for 180 days.

Owners, carrier admins and support users can view this page.

Sign out another user's devices

  1. Click a user's name on Sign-in activity, or click the Sessions icon on their row on Settings > Users or Drivers & fleet > Drivers.
  2. The Sessions & sign-ins panel shows where they are signed in and their recent activity.
  3. Click Sign out next to a device and confirm. They have to sign in again on that browser or device.

Who can sign out whom:

Support (read-only)Nobody (view only)

Nobody can sign out another owner from the portal; contact EZ Logs support if you need that. To sign out your own devices, use Security in the account menu.

Note: Signing a driver out of the app only ends their app session. Their ELD records are never changed or deleted.

Built-in protection

  • Failed sign-ins: after 10 wrong passwords for one account within 15 minutes, further attempts are blocked for a while ("too many attempts"). Wait and try again, or ask an admin to set a new password.
  • Deactivated accounts cannot sign in. Deactivating a user signs them out everywhere.
  • Password changes and resets (by the user or by an admin) sign the account out everywhere.
  • Token reuse blocked: if an already-used sign-in token is presented again, EZ Logs ends that session and records the event. Sign in again; if you did not cause it, change your password.

EZ Logs does not offer two-factor authentication (2FA) at the moment.

Audit log

Every session sign-out by an administrator, password action and user change is also recorded in Compliance > Audit log, with who did it and when.
