ELD devices

See every ELD adapter that has synced, assign each one to the vehicle it is installed in, set its BLE address and review driver overrides.

For admins

What the ELD devices page is for

The ELD devices page lists the vehicle adapters (such as the Pacific Track PT30) that belong to your company. Devices register themselves the first time a driver's app connects to them and syncs; you do not add them by hand. Your job is to make sure each device is assigned to the vehicle it is installed in, so its records carry the right unit number and VIN.

Open it from Drivers & fleet > Equipment > ELD devices.

Who can do what

  • Owner and Carrier admin: assign and unassign devices and set BLE addresses.
  • Support (read-only): view the list only.

The device list

Each row shows:

  • Serial and Adapter type.
  • BLE address: the Bluetooth address the driver app uses to recognise the device.
  • Linked vehicle: the unit the device is assigned to, or Unassigned.
  • Last seen and Firmware.
  • Status: Reporting (synced in the last 24 hours), Not seen in 24 h or Never seen.

Use the search box to find a device by serial, BLE address or unit.

Assign a device to a vehicle

  1. Find the device and select Assign (or Change vehicle if it is already assigned).
  2. In Assign device, choose the Vehicle.
  3. Select Assign device.

A device pairs with one vehicle at a time. If the vehicle already has another device, the dialog warns you. If that other adapter was removed from the truck, unassign it too so records are not attributed to the wrong vehicle.

To take a device out of service or move it, select Unassign first.

Set the BLE address

  1. Select Set address (or Edit address).
  2. Enter the BLE address as 12 hex digits (AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF), or paste the URL from the device's QR sticker.
  3. Select Save address. Leave the field empty to clear it.

Each BLE address can be set on only one device.

Recent driver overrides

The Recent driver overrides panel lists drivers who connected to an ELD even though the app warned them that it belongs to another vehicle (ELD of another vehicle) or reports a different VIN (VIN mismatch). It only appears when there are overrides. Check each one: either the device was moved and needs to be reassigned here, or the driver picked the wrong truck.

When a device is not reporting

A device showing Not seen in 24 h has not synced through any driver's app recently. That is normal for a parked truck. If the truck has been driven, see The PT30 will not connect. ELD malfunctions are tracked per driver on the dashboard and in the driver's log, not on this page.

Note: Driving recorded on a device's vehicle while no driver is signed in becomes unidentified driving. Review it on Unidentified driving.
