Welcome to EZ Logs

What EZ Logs is, how the driver app, the PT30 ELD and the carrier portal fit together, and where to start.

For drivers and admins Español

EZ Logs is an electronic logging device (ELD) platform for US motor carriers. It has three parts:

PartWho uses itWhat it does
EZ Logs driver app (Android)DriversRecords duty status, shows hours-of-service clocks, certifies daily logs, DVIRs, roadside inspection and messages. Keeps working offline.
Pacific Track PT30Installed in the truckPlugs into the truck's diagnostic port and sends engine hours, odometer, speed and GPS to the app over Bluetooth.
Carrier portal (web)Owners, office staff and dispatchersReview logs and edit requests, handle unidentified driving, manage drivers, vehicles, ELD devices and users.

How it works

  1. Plug in the PT30. Connect it to the truck's diagnostic port. It powers up with the engine.
  2. The driver signs in on the EZ Logs app, picks the truck and connects to the PT30 by scanning its QR sticker.
  3. Logs sync. Records are stored on the phone first, then sent to EZ Logs. The office sees them in the portal.
  4. Manage and inspect. The carrier reviews logs, edits and inspections in the portal. At a roadside inspection, the driver shows the logs on screen and sends the ELD records to FMCSA.

Where to start

If you run the company:

  1. Create your company account and work through the Get started with EZ Logs checklist.
  2. Add your vehicles and add your drivers.
  3. Bind each PT30 to its truck.
  4. Get your drivers on the app.

If you are a driver:

  1. Install the app with the link your carrier gives you.
  2. Sign in with the login your carrier created for you.
  3. Connect the PT30 in your truck.

Note: EZ Logs is built to the FMCSA ELD technical specification (49 CFR Part 395, Subpart B, Appendix A). FMCSA registration is in progress. See FMCSA compliance FAQ.
