What’s new
New features and changes in EZ Logs: the driver app, the PT30 integration and the carrier portal.
October 2026
Self-serve sign-up and free trial
- Fleet owners can create a company account online from ezlogs.co, the portal sign-in page or the driver app, and start a 14-day free trial without a credit card.
- A Get started with EZ Logs checklist on the dashboard walks you through company settings, office users, vehicles, drivers, ELD devices and the driver app.
- The top bar and the billing page show how many trial days are left, with an Upgrade button for the account owner.
- See Creating your company account and free trial.
More reliable PT30 history
- Old events left in a PT30's memory are no longer added to today's log, so they can't create false driving or unidentified driving.
- If vehicle data stops in the middle of a drive, the app no longer stays in Driving: it asks whether you are still driving and records On duty if you don't answer.
- Admins get a portal notification when a truck uploads records with an implausible date. See Old or stale data from the PT30.
Driver app in Spanish
- The whole driver app is now available in US Spanish.
- Drivers choose English, Español or the phone's language under More > Settings > Language.
- Roadside inspection screens always stay in English for the officer.
Public API and webhooks
- Connect EZ Logs to your TMS, payroll or BI tools with API keys that you create and revoke in the portal.
- Webhooks send signed notifications to your systems when things happen in EZ Logs.
- See Developer API and webhooks.
Driver pay
- Paid miles per driver from ELD driving time, time cards and pay profiles (per mile, hourly, per load, per stop and accessorials).
- Pay statements with deductions and adjustments, approved in the portal and shown to drivers in My pay.
- Drivers can dispute a statement line from the app. See Driver pay.
Trailers and reefer telematics
- Keep a register of your trailers and see which truck each one is hooked to, with hook and drop from the portal or the driver app.
- Enter or import (CSV) reefer temperature and trailer location readings. See Assets.
Fuel and idle
- A fuel dashboard with gallons, spend, cost per mile and MPG by vehicle and driver.
- Idle time and estimated idle cost per vehicle, with an alert for excessive idling.
- Fuel card imports and automatic checks for suspicious purchases, which you can confirm or dismiss. See Fuel and idle.
Safety
- Speeding and harsh driving events, driver and vehicle scorecards, and coaching notes that drivers acknowledge in the app.
- An accident register, and a quick accident report with photos from the driver app. See Safety.
Dispatch
- Create loads with stops, assign them to drivers and follow them on a dispatch board, with ETAs that take hours of service into account.
- Arrival and departure at stops are detected automatically; drivers capture proof of delivery in the app.
- Share a tracking link with your customers. See Dispatch and tracking links.
Documents and expiry dates
- Store driver, vehicle and company documents (CDL, medical card, registration, insurance and more) with expiry dates and reminders.
- A driver qualification file checklist with ZIP export.
- Drivers can see their documents and submit a renewed CDL or medical card from the app. See Documents and driver qualification files.
Reports
- Ready-made reports for utilization, mileage, idle time, HOS violations, driver hours, unassigned driving, log certification, DVIR, fuel, maintenance, alerts and geofence detention.
- Export to CSV or PDF, and schedule reports to arrive regularly in your report inbox. See Reports.
Maintenance
- Preventive maintenance schedules by miles, engine hours or days, using odometer and engine hours from the ELD.
- Work orders with parts and costs, which can be created from DVIR defects. See Maintenance.
Alerts and geofences
- Alert rules for HOS violations, speeding, idling, geofence visits, ELD malfunctions, unidentified driving, DVIR defects and more, delivered in the portal and as push notifications to drivers.
- Draw geofences around yards and customers, and see visits and detention time. See Alerts and geofences.
IFTA
- Miles by jurisdiction calculated from ELD and GPS data, with gaps flagged for review.
- Drivers enter fuel purchases and receipts in the app; the portal builds the quarterly IFTA report. See IFTA.
Features per account
- Optional features can now be turned on for each company account, so you only see what you use. Core ELD functions are always on.
