Certifying your logs

Review and certify each 24-hour log, and re-certify when a record changes after you certified it.

For drivers Español

At the end of each 24-hour period you must certify that your log is true and correct (49 CFR 395.30). The 24-hour period starts at the time your carrier set, in your home terminal time zone.

When the app asks you

  • After a 24-hour period ends, the app shows Certify your logs with the days to review. Tap Review to open the oldest day, or Later to do it afterwards.
  • When you sign out, the app asks you to certify every open day, including today.
  • The Log tab shows a banner such as "Mon, Oct 6 isn't certified" with Review and sign your log for each day that still needs it.

The app checks the last 8 days (today and the previous 7).

Certify a day

  1. Open the Log tab. Use Previous day and Next day to go to the day.
  2. Check the graph grid, the Events list, and the shipping, trailer and co-driver details. Fix anything wrong first (see Edits and edit requests).
  3. Tap Certify (on a tablet, Certify with the day's name).
  4. Read the statement: "I hereby certify that my data entries and my record of duty status for this 24-hour period are true and correct."
  5. Tap Agree. Tap Not ready if you need to check something first.

The day then shows Certified. If you certified it more than once, it shows how many times, for example Certified (2×).

You can also certify today before it ends (for example when you sign out early). If you keep working after that, today changes and you need to re-certify it.

Re-certifying

If a record of a certified day changes (your own edit, an edit request from your carrier that you accept, or unidentified driving you claim), the day shows Records for this day changed after certification. Review the log and tap Re-certify.

What if

  • You are offline: certification is saved on the phone and uploaded later.
  • Your carrier wants to edit your log: carriers can only propose edits to days you have certified. You then accept or reject the edit and re-certify. See Edits and edit requests.
