Signing in and out of the driver app
Sign in with your own login, pick your truck, connect the ELD, and sign out safely at the end of the day.
Always sign in with your own username and password. Never let another driver use your login, and never use theirs (49 CFR 395.22(e)). Your carrier creates your account and gives you your login.
- Open EZ Logs. On Driver login, enter your Email or ELD username and your Password.
- Tap Log in.
- If your carrier gave you a temporary password, the app asks you to set a new one (see Temporary password).
- On Which truck are you driving?, tap your truck (search by unit number or VIN if the list is long), then tap Continue with your unit.
- The first time you sign in, the app asks you to Choose your look. You can skip this and change it later in More > Settings > Appearance.
- Connect your ELD on the ELD tab: tap Scan QR code and scan the sticker on the PT30, or tap Find device manually. See Pairing a PT30.
After you sign in the app may ask you to:
- Review and sign the previous DVIR of this truck, if it reported defects (see Vehicle inspections (DVIR)).
- Review unidentified driving recorded on this truck while no one was signed in (see Unidentified driving).
- Certify your logs for days that ended and are not certified yet (see Certifying your logs).
Note: you can switch the app between English and Español on the sign-in screen, before you sign in. See Changing the app language.
If you can't sign in
- Invalid email or password: check the spelling. The username is your ELD username, not your name.
- Too many attempts: wait the time shown, then try again.
- No vehicles assigned to this driver: ask your carrier to assign you a truck.
- Forgot password?: tap it on the sign-in screen, enter your email or ELD username and tap Send code. Enter the 6-digit code you receive, choose a new password and tap Reset password. If no code arrives, your carrier can set a temporary password for you.
Resetting your password signs you out on every phone. Your logs on the phone are kept; sign in again to keep syncing.
Temporary password
When your carrier sets a temporary password, the app shows Set a new password:
- Enter the Temporary password your carrier gave you.
- Enter a New password and type it again in Confirm new password. It cannot be your username, your email or your current password.
- Tap Change password.
This needs an internet connection. If you are offline you can tap Continue offline (sync stays paused): logging continues, and your records upload after you set the new password.
To change your password at any time, open More > Settings > Change password.
Changing trucks
To switch to another truck, open More, find your Vehicle and tap Change. Then connect the ELD in the new truck.
If the ELD you connect belongs to another unit, or is plugged into a truck with a different VIN, the app warns you. If you are driving the other unit, tap Change vehicle instead of connecting anyway.
Signed out by your carrier
If your carrier resets your password, the app signs you out but keeps logging. A banner asks you to sign in again; your records stay on the phone and upload after you sign in.
Sign out
- Open More and tap Sign out.
- If you have days that are not certified (including today), the app asks you to certify them first.
- Confirm Sign out.
- The app uploads your logs before signing out. If some records could not be uploaded, you see how many are left. Connect to the internet and tap Try again, or tap Sign out anyway: those records stay on the phone (hidden from the next driver) and upload later.
To see where your account is signed in, open More > Settings > Signed-in devices.
