Entering fuel purchases

Record each fill-up with its receipt for your carrier's IFTA fuel tax report, and see your idle time and MPG.

For drivers Español

Your carrier uses your fuel purchases for the IFTA fuel tax report. Enter each fill-up in the app with a photo of the receipt. Fuel purchases is shown when your carrier uses IFTA.

Add a fuel purchase

  1. Open More > Fuel purchases and tap Add fuel purchase, or tap Fuel purchase on the HOS tab.
  2. Under Purchase:
    • add a Receipt photo with Camera or Gallery (optional, but keep a copy for an IFTA audit);
    • check Date and time (it can't be in the future);
    • choose the Truck;
    • leave State / province on Auto (from GPS), or pick the state. Tap Use my location to fill it in from the phone's location.
  3. Under Fuel:
    • choose the Fuel type (Diesel by default);
    • enter the quantity in Gallons (switch to L for litres);
    • enter the Total price from the receipt;
    • leave Fuel tax paid at the pump on for normal fuel stops. Turn it off for tax-free fuel, for example bulk or reefer fuel.
  4. Under Station (optional), you can add the Fuel stop / vendor, City / address, Odometer (mi) and Notes.
  5. Tap Save fuel purchase.

The purchase is saved on the phone and sent when you are online.

Your purchases

Fuel purchases lists your Recent purchases. Each shows Sent or Not sent yet.

If a purchase shows Not accepted, tap it to see why. Tap Remove to delete it from the phone, then enter it again with the right details, or Keep to leave it.

What if

  • "Check the highlighted fields.": a required field is missing or out of range. The truck, quantity and total price are required.
  • Location is off or the state can't be found: pick the state yourself, or leave Auto and EZ Logs uses the truck's GPS when it sends the purchase.
  • You are offline: save the purchase anyway; it is sent later.

My fuel & idle

If your carrier uses fuel and idle reports, More > My fuel & idle shows your idle time, fuel burned idling, miles, MPG and fuel purchased for the last 7 or 30 days, with your longest idle stops and the fleet average. Idle means the engine is on and the truck is not moving while you are signed in; idle fuel is an estimate.
